University of Texas selects StatMonitr for 2014-15
AUSTIN, TEXAS -- The University of Texas at Austin will use the StatMonitr media stats system for its on campus athletic events in 2014-15, StatBroadcast announced today.
The University of Texas is a public university and the flagship institution of the UT system. Founded in 1883, it is currently the fifth-largest campus in the nation with an eunrollment of over 50,000 students. Considered one of the 'Public Ivy' schools, UT is ranked in the top 15 for academics among public schools. Texas is home to one of the most successful collegiate programs of all time and was named 'America's Best Sports College' by Sports Illustrated in 2002. The Texas Longhorns compete in 18 varsity sports at the Division-I FBS level as founding members of the Big 12 Conference. The Longhorns have won 50 national championships in their history, ranking them in the top 10 among all schools, and Longhorn alumni have notched 68 Gold Medals (and 117 total medals) at the Summer Olympics since 1948.
The Texas football program is the second-most successful team in NCAA Division I FBS history with 875 victories and has notched 52 bowl appearances, 27 bowl wins, 129 All-Americans, 28 top ten finishes, 32 conference championships and four claimed national titles, including the 2005 BCS Championship.
Texas' baseball program is the most successful program in the history of Division-I with a winning percentage of .735. They have won 77 regular season conference champions, 15 conference tournament championships and have made a NCAA-record 35 appearances in the College World Series out of a total 56 appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Texas' six NCAA baseball championships (most recently in 2005) is the second-most in history and they have also notched six second-place finishes.
University of Texas is the 16th school from the State of Texas, the seventh member of the Big 12 Conference and the third member of the UT system to partner with StatBroadcast.
